SENIOR & CAREGIVER RESOURCE CENTER

Picture
Southeast Senior Services
Caregivers are vigilant about finding out what services are available for their loved one.  Many, however, don't realize that services are available for them as well.  In 2000, through the National Family Caregiver Support Program, services became available to provide encouragement and support for family caregivers.  This program recognizes the value of family caregivers and the reality that they carry the bulk of the load for long term care in our country.  The services provided through the program are outlined as information, assistance, support, respite and supplemental services. But what do these mean for you the caregiver?

Information about available services. This means you can get your questions answered about what services and options for care are available in your area.

Access to services. Can't  figure out where to go to get an application for a service like Care-A-Van? Need help completing a Medicaid application, or maybe getting a prescription drug plan figured out? Access means not only can you get help to find services, but you can get the help you need to actually use these services as well.
Support through the journey. Through caregiver support groups, individual counseling and training you can be assured that you are not alone and help is available.

Respite and Supplemental Services. Do you need a break from caregiving? Or maybe you need some help purchasing items that would assist you with your caregiving tasks. While the funding for respite and supplemental services is limited, assistance is available to help in these areas as well.

So where do you find these great services?  Right here with us, The Senior Information & Caregiver Resource Center. The National Family Caregiver Support Program makes us possible. Serving all of Southeast from Yakutat to Metlakatla, whatever your caregiving needs, give us a call. We're here for you.
