Meals on Wheels is a volunteer based service providing hot, nutritious meals to qualifying home-bound seniors over 60 years of age.

Capital AKcess
Effective Saturday, November 1, 2025, Capital AKcess will be changing contractors.
Capital AKcess will be operated by GTS, and the Capital AKcess phone number (844) 425-2377, will be the only number to schedule a ride effective Saturday, November 1, 2025. Click here for more details.
Important Things to Know:
· Capital Transit is requesting Capital AKcess clients update their information and CONFIRM their ADA-Transportation eligibility is current.
· Riders without a verified ADA transportation-disability will be ineligible to ride effective Saturday, November 1st, 2025.
· Verify your ADA eligibility status, request an application, or schedule an appointment for Transit staff to meet you at your place of convenience to review your application.
· Riders with approved ADA eligibility issued more than 3 years prior may be requested to update information or reapply. Capital AKcess is following the 3-year review requirement for ADA paratransit eligibility.
· Letters and application forms have been sent to the client address on file.
· ADA paratransit riders who have not received a letter are asked to contact Capital Transit.

The Bridge Adult Day Center
The Bridge provides a safe and nurturing environment for seniors who can no longer safely spend the day alone, are isolated, or experiences physical and/or cognitive impairment to make new friends. The program provides respite for family caregivers, as well as education and support.

Family Caregiver Support
Family Caregiver Support provides information and access to supportive services, and other activities designed to assist caregivers in helping seniors maintain a dignified, independent, healthy lifestyle and remain in their homes and communities of choice.

Case Management
The Case Manager conducts client needs assessments, develops plans of care to address specified needs, assists seniors in accessing needed services, and monitors the effectiveness of ongoing service delivery in meeting client needs and goals.
Counseling
Group and individual counseling and support groups are available for seniors struggling with depression or other mental health issues and their caregivers.

Gatekeeper Program
The Gatekeeper Program helps identify at-risk seniors and helps those seniors find assistance. A Gatekeeper can be any member of our community that may come in contact with seniors on a regular basis and, through that contact, notice changes in the senior’s routine which may indicate deterioration in functioning, substance abuse or mental health issues. CCS offers free Gatekeeper training to individuals and businesses.
