What is the SAFE Child Advocacy Center? The Southeast Alaska Family Evaluation Child Advocacy Center ( SAFE CAC) is a child-friendly place where a multi-disciplinary team of community professionals offer a coordinated response to allegations of child abuse and maltreatment. Services include:
SAFE CAC works to decrease the overall impact of abuse by collecting evidence to support successful prosecutions of abusers, providing resources and advocacy to caregivers on how to protect and support their children, reducing total community impact through intervention and services; and decreasing the number of children harmed by educating the community about awareness and prevention. SAFE CAC opened in 2001 through the collaboration of community partners working with victims of child abuse in our community. The multi-disciplinary team approach was adopted to provide the best possible services to victims and their families. SAFE CAC is an Accredited Member of the National Children's Alliance and a member of the Alaska Children's Trust.
